Why did you decide in favour of the wireless inspection camera from DEHN?
Klaus Grote-Westrich: The camera allows us to inspect the installation without having to disconnect it and to document the current state in photos and videos. The time saving and easy handling were what convinced us.

 

Where do you use the product?
KG: We use the camera for live working, for example inspection, fault detection and status monitoring of switchgear assemblies and even buildings.

 

What is your experience of this product?
KG: My colleagues use the camera because it facilitates their work on parts of the installation which are difficult to access. Improvements and modification requests, for example additional lighting, were quickly implemented by DEHN.

Where WESTNETZ uses the inspection camera:

  • Outdoor switchgear assemblies

    The inspection camera is mounted on the insulating stick system to inspect insulators, connections and contacts and to check the transitions from the insulator to the conductor.

  • Camera image

    From the ground, one cannot see that the protective lid of the busting panel has come loose. The camera reveals that it is no longer properly sealed. Water could get in and cause malfunctions. The darker spots around the bursting plate may indicate partial discharges.

  • Indoor switchgear assemblies

    The inspection camera allows you to check the connecting contacts at the high-voltage tie breaker and to document their state.

  • Camera image

    The camera clearly shows that the connections of the indoor switchgear assemblies are intact.

  • Compensating coil

    The inspection camera is used to visually inspect the state of the compensating coil. Leakage is visible. The camera allows a closer assessment of the leakage without having to disconnect the installation.

  • Camera image

    The inspection camera enables accurate fault detection: Before starting repair work, the required material can be selected and the urgency of repair assessed.
