Holistic approach to sustainable business: EcoVadis honours DEHN for its commitment to sustainability

As of August 2025, DEHN SE ranks among the top 15 percent of companies assessed by EcoVadis. This is confirmed by the silver medal awarded by the leading provider of global sustainability ratings. ‘We are very proud that our efforts have been acknowledged with the silver medal. For us, this is a big step in the right direction and an incentive for further successes in the area of sustainability,’ explains Dr Philipp Dehn, CEO of DEHN SE.

DEHN receives the EcoVadis silver medal for its commitment to sustainability.

EcoVadis' rating method is based on international sustainability standards such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the UN Global Compact and ISO 26000. The platform enables companies to assess the sustainability performance of their suppliers worldwide.

The assessment focuses on four areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

The specialist for lightning and surge protection and safety equipment operates photovoltaic systems with a capacity of 1,250 kWp for its own electricity generation at its Mühlhausen site. Energy is saved through heat recovery and concrete core activation. The new production facility also complies with the KfW 40 standard and has extensive environmentally friendly green roofing and areas with typical local sandy grassland. The company already uses only green electricity at its headquarters in Neumarkt.

In its supply chain, DEHN relies on transparent processes and a partnership-based approach to suppliers. DEHN has been part of the UN Global Compact since 2024, a commitment underlined by its own code of conduct for business partners and comprehensive risk management in accordance with the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG).

DEHN develops durable products and supplements them with digital services to conserve resources and increase safety in an increasingly electrified world. Anchoring sustainability firmly in product design and innovation processes is a goal the company is striving hard to achieve.

As an employer, DEHN also demonstrates responsibility by offering professional development opportunities, flexible working hours for a good work-life balance, and a wide range of health care options. The same applies to active inclusion, for example, through cooperation with the JURA Werkstätten in Neumarkt to integrate people with disabilities into the workplace at the site in Mühlhausen. ‘With the EcoVadis rating, we want to make it clear to our customers and suppliers that sustainability is not only an important value in our partnership but, alongside innovation, a cornerstone of our success,’ explains Susanne Horn, Director of Corporate Development at DEHN.
